Two records that look identical may have very different values. A careful valuation requires the exact edition and condition to be checked.

Rarity and demand
A hard-to-find record has significant value only when collectors actively want it.
Pressing
Country, year, label, catalogue number, matrix and sleeve details help identify an original edition or reissue.
Record condition
Scratches, marks, warping and surface noise directly affect value.
Sleeve condition
A complete, well-preserved sleeve with original inserts or accessories adds value.
